about the game

pogobounce or get flattened by falling blocks

A free physics survival game. Blocks keep falling, full rows clear, and every arena is faster than the last. Get flattened three times and it is over. No download, no account.

pogo is a free physics survival game you play in the browser. A rider in an orange helmet bounces on a pogo stick across a pile of blocks while four-cell pieces keep falling from the top. Every piece flashes a red warning over its columns first, then drops, lands and locks into the pile. Fill a row and it clears.

The stick bounces on its own. You steer left and right and hold jump to charge a big bounce for climbing. A piece that lands on the head, chest or hips flattens the rider, and you have three riders. Survive the arena clock to clear the arena, and the next one has a new layout and faster blocks.

Coins, combos, a shield, close calls and line clears all add to the score. Pick easy, medium or hard and chase your best, or play the daily run: the same drops for everyone that UTC day. The game shows cartoon blood, and one toggle turns it off.

questions

pogo questions

How do I play pogo on a phone, a keyboard or a gamepad?

On a phone hold the left or right arrow pad to move and hold JUMP to charge, or use the board itself: hold the left third to go left, the right third to go right and the middle to charge, with several fingers at once. On a keyboard use the arrows or A and D to move and Space, W or the up arrow to charge. Escape pauses and R restarts from the result. On a gamepad the d-pad or left stick moves and A charges.

How does bouncing and charging work?

The rider bounces every time the stick tip lands on a block, about one cell high. Hold jump and a ring fills above the head over about half a second. The next bounce uses the charge, up to roughly four and a half cells, then the charge resets. Landing on a piece that is still falling gives a lower bounce.

What do the red columns mean?

Every piece shows a red warning before it drops: a glow over its columns, a down arrow at the top and a bar that fills as the drop gets close. Get out from under it before the bar fills. Some pieces aim at you, and on medium and hard two can come at once.

How do I lose a rider, and when do I come back?

A falling piece that lands on the head, chest or hips flattens the rider. You start with three riders. After a second and a half the next one appears in the free column nearest the middle and blinks for 2.2 seconds, when nothing can hurt it. When all three are gone the game is over.

How do line clears, coins and the shield score?

You score 10 a second alive and 4 for every piece that locks. One full row pays 100, two pay 300, three 600 and four 1000. A coin pays 50 times your combo, and the combo grows when you take coins less than 4.5 seconds apart. The blue shield saves you from one crush. A piece that locks right next to your body is a close call worth 25.

What changes between easy, medium and hard?

Easy drops slowly with a long warning and never two at once. Medium is faster, warns for one second and sometimes drops two pieces together. Hard warns for three quarters of a second and almost half of its pieces aim at you. Every arena falls faster and lasts a little longer than the one before.

Is the daily run the same for everyone, and can I turn the blood off?

Yes. The daily run uses the same drops for everyone that UTC day and difficulty, and your first attempt is the one that is scored. The game shows cartoon blood by default; the blood on and blood off button on the start screen and under the board switches it to a confetti burst and is remembered.
